Development of 1,500 homes pushes forward
Full Description:
The city's planning commission approved tentative maps this week for about 300 new homes in the Barstow area. The proposed homes are the first phases of a planned community of about 1,500 new houses on the south side of Rimrock Road about a mile west of Barstow Road.
Rimrock Ranch, a master-planned community, was approved Monday night for the three different building tracts, the first with 98 planned lots, the second with 104 planned lots, and the third for 105 lots.
Canaday and Co., the Tustin-based developer of the neighborhood, hoped to break ground on the project last summer, but needed to revise some maps and resubmit them to the planning commission.
